What's the best acne medication for someone with no skin?

you got the right nick for yourself good job, that is exactly what i did after i read your question LOL!What's the best acne medication for someone with no skin?
The invisible kind. What's the best acne medication for someone with no skin?
some kerosene, good luck man!! are u sure that's acne.. Or could u be one big human sized walking gonorrhea..
Amateur
if you mean you have no areas of skin that aren't affected by acne, then it sounds serious enough to be prescribed an extremely powerful vitamin c/antibiotic called Roacutane. It cleared me right up.

If on the other hand you have no skin, then I'm afraid I can't think of a witty reply. I must strike you as quite the dullard!
no skin=no acne
Well darlin

If you have no skin,,you shouldn't have ANY sort of dermatological problem!
Oh you poor thing: you have no life do you!!!!!!! Try watching TV as you would probably get more enjoyment out of a movie then to post stupid questions like this one.
salt
how can u have acne without any skin
Nuclear waste, when applied liberally it not only will cure acne but will promote growth that will simulate skin.
acne where?
oooo..... better see your dermatologist - wait - can you see a dermatologist, if you have no skin?
rubbing alcohol and peroxide.......nothing feels better!
hmm maybe instead of proactiv you should try noactiv..
What holds all the innards in-the zits?
If they have no skin there's no way they can have acne. Acne forms in the pores of the skin, not in the general tissue of the human body.
By definition, acne is a condition of the skin. If someone has no skin in an area (which is also pretty much impossible; without some form of dermis, the underlying muscle would be visible, and the individual would be in constant, excrutiating pain), they can't have acne.
Nasty
is this a joke?
What!?
Here's what you do: Get a big bucket. Fill it with water. Dunk your head in three times, but take it out only twice.
Visit your local vet for help.
Please try and see a doctor Now. It is not easy to get appointment, or for that matter get in to emergency now a days so just try this.

Any of the antibiotic creams that are available over the counter.
Well, you could try Kosher salt but...

Heyyyyy....

Is this one of those ';Trick Questions?';
A nice tall shot of whiskey.
how can you have no skin, and why would you but acne medication on your face ,with no skin.
Some skin!!
Liquid Acid. It has a nice soothing affect.
huh
Well you wouldn't have acne if you had no skin!!! That has to be one of the dumbest questions that I have seen, at least today.

Is it ok to use Proactiv acne medication that Expired a year ago ?

I don't think so. It's effectiveness will not be as great. You should just get a fresh supply.

I use Proactiv all the time, but it's getting to be a little bit too expensive.....Other than Proactiv, what is a good adult acne medication?
Try Differin, it's the number 1 prescribed topical acne medication by dermatologists.

The combination of Tea Tree Oil soap and the Clindamycin cream is the best for Acne and pimple. These work wonders. Maybe it will work on you too.

Try searching it through Google 'shopaholic's bargains'
    Clearasil and nutrogena
Visit your doctor and discuss those options.
clearasel and zap zyt :] i use 'em both

What is good acne medication? (not prescription)?

I use neutrogena face wash, its not too great. It kind of made it worse. What is some good medication for me. My acne is mainly on my forehead and it gets very red. Please help, I've never had acne this bad, and I dont know what to do.What is good acne medication? (not prescription)?
try the oxy pads or any oxy products u can get them at any pharmacy/grocery store right off the shelf

What's the best non-perscription acne medication?

Also, include the approximate price as well. I don't have that much money, but I do want my face to clear up.What's the best non-perscription acne medication?
Many things cause acne. And what you're calling acne may not even technically be acne. Best bet is to have your dermatologist tell you what you're really dealing with.

As for OTC treatment, the main ingredient in the most expensive and most effective non-prescription drugs is hydrogen peroxide. Cost is about 89 cents at The Dollar Store. If you're encountering an outbreak right now, apply a round cotton pad with a little HP on it to your face three times per day. Follow up with plain, fragrance-free hypo-allergenic moisturizer -- just enough to keep you from drying out too badly. I use Safeway brand (generic) Advanced Healing Skin Protectant Lotion. I got this from Tom Thumb for maybe $4.00, but it lasts a loooong time, and you don't use much. Maybe it was less; I can't remember.

This isn't an ';instant'; fix. Your skin needs time to heal. But you may greatly benefit from seeing your dermatologist to see if you might need some antibiotics to treat any bacterial skin condition you may be dealing with.

One other thing: Change your makeup often. I'm not just talking about keeping your face clean. I'm talking about throwing out your old makeup and using fresh applicators with fresh makeup. The bacteria in your skin can live and breed in your makeup too. Lovely, huh? What's the best non-perscription acne medication?
I finally, finally found my miracle.....the benzoyl peroxide lotion they sell at acne.org.....I think it's around 8 or 9 dollars plus shipping for a huge tube....it ends up being cheaper than clearasil because you buy the larger amount

anyway, it's a low concentration of peroxide, so it isn't too drying, and it blends with makeup.....I leave it on my skin practically 24 hours a day.....my acne has probably been reduced by about 90%

also, I think diet does play a role in acne.....the only time I do break out now is when I eat really unhealthfully.....
ummm....i don't know abt where u live ... but in india ... u can get Vitamin A capsules which are extremely good when taken for a more than a week or so .

Anyone know of an acne medication that is very effective that i can buy at like walmart?

Should I stay on my acne medication?

Im 15 and I have been prescribed dioxine 100 tablets by my doctor and they are suppose to kill acne but it hasnt worked. I have been on them for around 5 to 6 months and i seems to do is ease the acne, not fully take it away. Should I stop taking it? Anyone have any home remedies?Should I stay on my acne medication?
    Hi Aaron

Here are some remedies to correct your issue. #9 is very important one.

    Cause

As the teenagers grow up, they, like everybody else today, eat devitalized, dead, ';mucus-loaded'; junk materials that could only be called ';garbage food'; or meals without energy and life building materials in them. The rapid change from childhood to adulthood requires foods rich in vitamins, minerals, etc., needed in the healthy body. Processed foods are low or lacking in natural hormone and estrogen materials needed in the growth transition to adulthood. The young person's body realizes the lack and the need, and tries to pull the required materials from the body. If they are not there, the strain of trying to produce them causes irritation, a nasty snarling disposition, and a pimply complexion.

We blame the child for not being cooperative, for craving sweets, excess meats and bakery products. The body is craving vitamins and minerals and basic needs for health, and that ';craving'; is termed ';hidden hunger.'; To pacify this hungry gnawing feeling, the young person stuffs on junk food, adding insult to injury. From this diet comes acne, boils, irritability, the sick and sad youth. The girls have difficult menstrual periods with cramps, flooding, or off-timed cycles, and the boys have a tendency toward early prostrate trouble and unhealthy sex drive.

    Remedies

    3. Natural Hormones for Puberty: During puberty, and preferably just before that time starts, it would be wise to have the pre-teen boy and girl take a cup or more of red raspberry leaf tea and/or (especially important) blessed (holy) thistle tea each day--six days each week. This tea will assist in supplying natural hormone and estrogen materials to the system. Puberty is also much easier to go through if the tonsils are still intact.

    4. Dr. Christopher's Chickweed Ointment: This is made of chickweed herb and bees wax and oils. Excellent for eczema and/or other skin infections, sores, burning, itchy skin or genitals, swollen testes, acne, hives, also for ulceration of mouth and throat. This is a wonderful healing ointment.

    5. Blood Purifying: If we are just beginning a cleansing and healing program, we experience problems. Very common is acne, which is most often a manifestation of an unclean bloodstream. Red clover tea is an excellent blood-cleanser, with a very mild taste. Burdock root tea works fast and well to cleanse the bloodstream. Carrot juice, very pleasant to the taste, cleanses and builds good cell structure. Many families drink green drink, consisting of fresh greens, such as comfrey, parsley, mint, lambs quarters, marshmallow (that is, common mallow), your dandelion and other local greens, blended into a base of pineapple juice in a blender. At first you may wish to strain out the pulp, but it is good for you too, and soon you should become accustomed to it. Some people make a green drink by simply blending the wildings into water, straining out the pulp and sweetening a bit with pure maple syrup or honey. This green drink supplies vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and healing factors in a fresh, assimilable form.

    6. Soap and Astringents: If you want to treat your acne externally, be aware that it's not an external problem. I would recommend very sparing use of soaps, which is contrary to most advice on acne. Soap removes the protective oil from the skin and upsets the acid-alkaline balance. Only use soap if your skin is really dirty; otherwise, wash with water. Instead of using thick makeup, which must be soaped off, let your natural healthy glow illuminate your skin. There are mineral-based blush powders which have no chemicals in them; they can be used as blush and as eyeshadow; just make sure when you purchase them that they really have no chemicals, as some cosmetic companies are mimicking the idea but including additives.

Some people recommend astringents to control large pores on oily skin. First of all, your skin won't produce excess oil if you follow the mucusless diet. Although you will be taking adequate oils in your diet, they are in a form assimilable by the body. Probably the worst ';junk food'; anyone can take is hydrogenated oil--margarine, hydrogenated peanut butter, shortening. These oils have undergone a chemical change which makes their structures unusable by the body. They clog up the digestive tract and bloodstream and cause many problems, including that oily skin that troubles you! Eliminate them from your diet, replacing them with natural oils (olive, safflower, almond, sesame--there are many choices). You'll see a real difference in just about a week.

As for the large pores, astringents only help for a little while, as they fill the pores with moisture, seeming to close them. But after a short time, the pores return to their normal size. A good diet, plenty of steam-distilled water, exercise, and the consistent use of the blood cleansing herbs mentioned above, will help tighten those pores. In the meantime (and perhaps just for fun) you can make some astringent lotions to apply to your face. Rub some strawberries on your skin and splash them away with water! Squeeze the juice from a cucumber and do the same. Tomatoes, raspberries, and zucchini all gently tone the skin. You can make a ';green drink'; for the complexion, blending comfrey, fennel, geranium, lavender, marigold, nettles, peppermint, sage or yarrow (any one or combination of these) with pineapple juice to make a thick, thick mush. Put them on the face, containing them with a piece of gauze if necessary, and lie down for a half-hour or so. Rinse off and notice a glowing skin.

Good old-fashioned witch hazel (the distilled herb preserved with some alcohol), which you can still purchase at most pharmacies, is known for its skin-toning abilities. You can combine it with fresh or bottled (unsweetened) apple juice, adding a little rubbing alcohol to preserve. This fresh-smelling astringent is cheap enough for everyday use, but nice enough to bottle in a small container and give as a gift.

    7. Aloe Vera: This penetrates the skin quickly and deeply. This allows water and other moisturizers to sink deeply into the skin, restoring lost fluids and replacing the fatty layer. It permits the uronic acids, which strip toxic materials of their harmful effects, to penetrate deeply and allows the cleansing astringent qualities of the gel to work better. By increasing the circulation of the blood to an area, Aloe Vera sloughs off dead cells and fosters the growth of new ones. This helps foster the regeneration of scarred or blemished skin tissue and provides a protective coating on the skin to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria. This antiseptic action also stops skin infections (acne) in oil-clogged pores. It heals blemishes with little or no scarring. This accounts for the multitude of cosmetic preparations these days contain Aloe Vera.

    8. Liniment of Peppermint: This was used in the past to reduce varicose veins, and clear up acne, boils, abscesses and eczema. To do so, heat 1 pint of pure olive oil, and add to it 1 dram (teaspoonful) of oil of Peppermint, 1 dram, menthol crystals, and 1 dram of flowers of camphor. Mix in a warm jar or bottle, shaking until dissolved. Let stand until cool, then keep in a cool place.

    9. Bowel and Blood Purifiers: Dr. Christopher emphasized that we need to know the source of our problems. Perhaps our toxic condition begins with a poorly functioning bowel which should be taken care of with the Lower Bowel Formula. But suppose a person has a case of boils or acne. The Red Clover combination should be used about three times a day, six days a week for six weeks. Then you can switch to another blood purifier such as burdock or chaparral or Brigham tea. Then switch back to the Red Clover combination.

    10. Watercress: This like other plants which have a pungent taste, is celebrated as a blood purifier and has been used in the springtime to eliminate the toxins accumulated in the winter. It increases the appetite, frees up the bowels and causes a freer flow of urine. It is strongly alkaline and therefore treats acidity of the blood and relieves symptoms related to overacidity. It is said to help clear up acne as it cleanses the blood and relieves arthritis and rheumatism.

    11. Blood Purifiers: There are various combinations recommended for blood purifiers. You can make the simple infusion, allowing to steep for thirty minutes, or you can combine with equal parts of red clover tops, Brigham tea, burdock and figwort, making 2 quarts of tea and reducing it down to one quart. Combine yellow dock burdock, sarsaparilla and echinacea for an excellent blood cleanser, particularly good in treating post-adolescent skin acne or eruptions related to the menstrual cycle. It will help clear up eruptions on oily skin of the neck and back.

    12. Fruits and Vegetables for Acne: Carrot %26amp; spinach, celery %26amp; watercress, grapefruit juices are all useful to combat acne.

    13. Unwholesome Foods: Acne, a prevalent problem among teen-aged boys would not be possible in our society if our foods were wholesome. A most sad and disgusting sight is the pus-filled pimples due to inner toxicity --- wastes trying desperately to escape through the face. This condition often turns a gentle face in the blossom of youth into a waste dump of pimples, pus and subsequent pock marks which can be prevented. The tons of acne medications and prescriptions sold annually act only on the effect of the harmful food, and not the cause of the disease, malnutrition. The traditional teenage meal, a grease burger, french fries and a milk shake or cola simply does not provide enough nourishment for anyone, let alone a boy going through puberty to adulthood. Our highly processed foods are devoid of hormones found in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Blessed thistle tea given to the unfortunate souls three times a day along with a change in diet to the wholesome, mucusless foods will supply necessary hormones for growth and maturity. The aforementioned hormone and estrogen formula [Changease] will also be beneficial. The big task here will be to reeducate the tastebuds of these boys so they can appreciate real food.

    14. Cabbage: Apply a lotion of freshly prepared cabbage juice preceded, if desired, by the application of leaves. The eating of cabbage leaves or juice is also helpful.

    15. Lemon Juice: Skin problems such as acne... will often respond to a treatment of lemon juice. For blackheads rub lemon juice over them each night.

    16. Black Walnut: Externally, Black Walnut is nearly a miracle worker in cases of ...acne, dandruff, boils, itch, shingles, ringworm--we could go on, but you can see that you can use Black Walnut whenever a skin disorder appears! The tincture is an excellent first-aid remedy for wounds.

    Best of health to you

What I do know that works best is facial peels or whatever. Some person I know that had bad acne took 'em and their acne cleared up in a month. The thing is you have to keep going back for regular appointments to keep your skin clear and this person told me that it kind of hurts like hell or something. As for home remedies, I don't know and if ur pills don't work, then stop taking them.
Ask you parents what a 2nd. opinion means but 1st. maybe try- 1- the only time you touch your face is with a wash cloth- 2- try to watch what you're eating- what or if ever you're eating too much of may be a problem- 3- 15 yrs. old- almost all young adults get this in some form- try to drink more water and chill- it may go away, but not fast enough...
    i would still take it...
This is a brand name? Why are you taking this for last six months? what is the generic name? Please read about acne treatment here-

    http://www.doctorgoodskin.com/ds/acne/
take a bath in hot water and vinegar daily until your acne clears up then do it every so often to keep them away
Internal medications for these sort of topical ailments should be a last resort, unless it can be fatal.. Try any soap with salicylic acid (most acne washes) and ask your doctor about topical medications like clindamycin or tretinoin. They have FAR less side effects.
Try ';Retin A'; it helps with acne problems and prevent wrinkles.
Stop fooling around with the prescribed meds. You know DOCs are good and all but they hold stock in the products they recommend, too. Acutane is a seriously dangerous drug - google it to see what the problems were. Now, if you are not getting results you will have to do one of two things - go back to DOC and pay more money for, yet, another drug that may not work or check out these methods.

Ive been using this acne medication for 5 days and it made me break out a bit more?

its only gave me 4 more pimples and i haven't seen any changes yet to clearer skin but i am getting smoother skin. is it normal to break out a bit more in the beginning. and if it is how long should it last.Ive been using this acne medication for 5 days and it made me break out a bit more?
Ok, i'm telling you this because i have struggled with acne myself. Once you start using any kind of acne medication you're always gonna break out more, what it's doing is bringing out all the pimples from underneath your skin, %26amp; if you just keep washing your face and using whatever you're using then you'll see results, but in 5 days your not gunna see much of a change. So just relax and whatever u do, do not stress because as we all know they brings more pimples and we don't want that do we?? haha NO we don't!Ive been using this acne medication for 5 days and it made me break out a bit more?
yeah, it's normal. if you went to the dermatologist, they should have told you that it would take 7 to 10 days before your skin starts to clears up.

Or will the acne medication not work over it, or will the Jergens Natural Glow not work under it?Can I wear Jergens Natural Glow Under my acne medication cream?
You should always put medicated cream on your face BEFORE any moisturizer, but I'm afraid in this case the Benzaclin might not let the Jergens do its tanning work effectively or evenly. Could you maybe put the moisturizer on in the morning and the acne medication on in the evening? Can i take ClearPores Herbal pill with my regular acne medication?

Im about to order ClearPores acne treatment kit becuase it looks like it works well. Im already taking a perscription pill called Minocycline and it takes care of about half of my acne problem, but i still have a decent amount...i was wondering if i could take this herbal pill with the one im already taking because if i stop taking it, i will probably go back to where i startedCan i take ClearPores Herbal pill with my regular acne medication?
Since you do not state your age is it not possible to give approbiate advise, but here is what I would do:

First of all, I would google the side effects of the prescribed medication and then compare them to the side effects of the herbal medication.

Next, I would ask my doctor to check for Vitamin-B deficiency or overdose: in both cases serious skin problems can occur. I've had a deficiency and broke out with eczemas, skin rashes, and a fungal skin infection and had one heck of a time getting treated. The medication prescribed didn't even relieve the itch too much.

So first, check the side effects---and then CALL the company and ask about interference with drugs before you order. Most companies do have a toll free number where you can ask(and order).Don't just buy it and then find out that you can't take it because of the other medication.

If you really want to do something good for your skin, get a microdermabrasion and do that on a regular schedule. Mary Kay sells one that actually is very good(the set is around 50 bucks)If you don't smoke then you don't have to do that more than twice a month, so it would last you a long time. I did it every week and it lasted me four or five months.

Next, make sure you do have balanced vitamins. Often a lack of certain vitamins causes skin problems---good luck

Try ';Thursday Plantation'; tea-tree acne wash and gel. It's a natural, effective, and easy-on-skin alternative to over-the-counter products. I used it with good results. Remember to wash your face at least twice a day, and pat (not rub!) it dry. Also, have a bottle of ';cleansing water'; for acne. You can get some at any chemist, and it comes in different brands. A few times during the day, wet a piece of cotton with some, and gently wipe your face to remove the excess sebum and dirt stuck to it.

    Hi,

A good Vitamin B complex helps you maintain healthy skin tone and a deficiency in vitamin A can cause acne.

    For more information try http://www.vitaminbag.com

My advice, go buy some vitamin A and B and try it for the next month.

It should reduce the acne bursts but it won't vanish the scars.
Use liquid detergent to wash once a week and powder your pillow and soft furniture with sulfur once a year.
the vitamin guy is right, but not everybody is the same (although i don't believe that there are that many people who are deficient in Vit-A). in my case, consuming PROCESSED SUGAR caused my hormone to react, eventually making zits. I understand that this is not an easy task to do. trying to avoid sugar is Extremely hard, i guarantee you that. but this is something that you should definitely try, and i do believe that this is what is causing your problem. to make long story short, your liver is weak. yours (ours?) cant effectively break down sugar, and end up being stored in your body as fat (that goes to your face).

one example: if you hate drinking water, drink tea. avoid sugary drinks at all cost (ESP. soda pops).

Just try avoiding sugar for 3 days straight, see what it happens. unfortunately, many dressings and condiments have sugar in them.... but please, try avoiding sugar for Just 3days. It wont hurt you.
Lime juice, tomato slices, home made packs can be used for treating acne. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for pimples at http://arzi.org
Try this simple remedy. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne like soap. The secret of keeping the skin clear is to keep it oil-free and clean. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

After I got off the pill, acne started returning about 4-6 months later. I'm currently seeing an esthietician and using the Obaji system at the moment ( 5 different products - facial toners, cleansers, blenders, and moisturizers paired with Retin A (a perscription cream).. and so far its definitely smoothed out my skin and helped the Acne

Both of these options are pretty expensive.. Accutane wasnt covered on my plan so i was paying close to 100 bucks a month for that... Obaji system is pricey too.. to get started its around $500 for all the product
    Hi there!

If benzoyl peroxide does not work for u, you may wish to try topical retinoids such as tretinoin. It has been proven to be effective in most cases. This is because retinoids are synthetic derivatives of vitamin A. Their primary action is to clear microcomedones, whiteheads and blackheads.

Tretinoin is available in cream, gel and liquid form. Gels are the most drying, and creams the least. It is advisable to start application sparingly, once a night at the lowest concentration, 20-30 minutes after washing the face. The skin commonly becomes a little red and peels when treatment is first started. It will adapt to the irritation and begins to improve after a few weeks.

In addition, limiting exposure to sunlight and using sunscreen are recommended, as some patients may developed sensitivity to sunlight while on treatment.

I'm not trying to offend I just need to be blunt in order to get my point across....If your skin is this bad now you should spend the money in order to prevent further scaring. Acne will only get worse until you graduate high school.
You can clean your skin with apple cider vinegar as a simple home remedy. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

  • What is the best acne medication?

I have had trouble with acne ever since I started puberty. Every time I get get a new acne medication brand, it works awesomely the first time, but after several uses it's like I'm immune to it...I need some help. What is the best acne medication?
You might be over drying your skin with that many products. I would get a moisturizer for acne (I use clean and clear dual action moisturizer in the white and purple bottle). If your skin is too dry, it cracks, and lets the bacteria in. You need to find the right balance. I use a foaming facial cleanser at night, a very gentle face soap (like cetaphil) in the morning, and moisturizer right after each. I also use a regular cream for spot treatment.

According to my doctor when I went for the same reason, that many harsh products are just making it worse. What is the best acne medication?
Prescription acne medication is usually the best, but it's really expensive, and in some cases, not worth it. I use Neutrogena Acne Stress Control. Neutrogena has done a wonderful job of clearing up acne fast and stopping breakouts. And best of all, it's cheaper than prescription acne medication. Be careful with choosing acne cleansers. Make sure to choose the right one for your skin type. If you have really dry skin, try to find an acne cleanser with green tea and cucumber. It really soothes skin and keeps it smooth. Neutrogena Acne Stress Control has these in it. It's also oil-free. Try to find an acne cleanser that has salicylic acid in it, too. It works wonders on acne. Benzalkonium chloride works too.
Accutane, but it's a pain in the butt.

If you're a girl you have to get pregnancy tests every month, blood work done, take quizzes with this little hand out. Plus the side effects can be deformities if you get pregnant while on Accutane, depression, and liver problems.

It's a pain, but honestly it works like a miracle.
definitely the best acne medication is clearasil ultra. This ';cleaner skin in three days'; acne cream is guaranteed to give you results. Acne systems are not recommended due to the fact that you must leave it on all day and if you sweat you feel obligated to wash it off. Try it, I suffered the same you did and now my skin is clear. It may also be due to your nutrition. What you eat plays a huge role on your acne appearance. Hang tight, it's all a process. Good luck. :)
WATER!!! Drink tons of water because that will flush out all the toxins that would otherwise exit your body though your skin! also double check to see if you have food allergies! (Google: food allergies cause Acne) Stay away from artificial sugars!!!! (splenda, nutrasweet, sweet n low, etc!) they contain Aspartame! that broke me out SO bad! its in like all diet drinks and basically ANYTHING ';sugar-free';! Its deadly so make sure you Google that too! (Aspartame causes cystic acne!)

I use a face wash with benezyl peroxide in it!Drink tons of water and eat as organic as possible! I was a serious case of Acne too! (my face was swollen!) I was going to take Accutane, but was really concerned about all the side affects and risk it brings! I am 97% better! the water has also helped significantly with the scarring! =]

I have suffered since I was 12 so I know how you feel! I promise this will help AND it makes you healthier too! why not give it a try?
Drinking lots of water every day and using a neutral face wash like neutrogena. It has worked wonders for me and its cheap. For the scabs I get from popping my zits I dab a little tripple anti biotic ointment on the popped zit with a little zit cream and it seems to get rid of them fast.

Also this may sound weird and it kind of stinks but for black heads I put some apple cider vinegar on a cotton wall and just use it like toner. I usually wash it off after it dries b/c of the smell.
    It's Accutane.

That's actually the ONLY one that works.

If you don't want to do that though, go with a thing called Nature's Cure.
Accutane, it is a prescription medication. This is for chornic and advanced acne.
    i use differingel and duacgel
clean %26amp; clear works wonders for me
the same thing happened to me. After a while i told my mom that it was bugging and she brought me to the doctor. i told him my problem and he gave me a treatment. what i got was: pills that you have to swallow, and two topical treatments to accompany those. my acne is visibly better.

    about it:

you only have to take the pills for three months, they're a little large but they go down great with water (you can request to see the size of the pill while you're at the doctor and chances are, they'll show you) the topical treatment is really easy, nothing time consuming, very simple.

    cons:

you have to take the pill twice a day. it only works if you take it consistently. the pills are about the size of the length of your pinky-fingernail. sometimes you just forget to take the pill. (but hey, you just have to take it a little longer, that's all!) you cant go out in the sun for too long, if you do you need sunblock. you should drink LOTS of water with them. you cannot take antacids within an hour of the medication (might not be a problem for you but it is for some...).

so far, its worked GREAT for me. i never though it would work this good but it did.

Has anyone used the acne medication Solydyn?

    DOES IT WORK?

if not, what is the best prescription for acne that anyone knows about?

Thanks!Has anyone used the acne medication Solydyn?
Solodyn does work. It is extended release minocycline. It is considered to be a waste of money. Regular minocycline is a fraction of the cost and works just as well. Minocycline went generic and thus, Solodyn was born. Dermatologists tend to be the most brand conscious of any medical specialty. They just love to prescribe those kinds of drugs.

What is the best acne/pimple medication for a 12 year old?

My 12 year old daughter is very obviously going through puberty!! She has started to break out on her face, chest, %26amp; upper back. This is very embarassing for her, especially with swim-suit season coming up. Any ideas? I did not go through this stage when I was younger so I'm not sure what to do? She washes the problem areas twice a day with oatmeal soap, and has tried every over the counter medicine available at our local wal-mart. Has also used prescription benzoyle-peroxide, and most recently proactiv. Nothing helps! What is the best acne/pimple medication for a 12 year old?

some worked for me too Report Abuse

    try T3 Pimple Gel...wrks for me... it's pH 5.5

    n perfect for da skin...
When I used to break out at lot, I used the tea tree oil system at the Body Shop. I still use just plain tea tree oil on pimples Both work great. Also, be sure to moisturise. If you are drying out the skin you will just end up irritating it worse.
I'm 13 and have had the same skin problem lately! The only thing that worked for me was my mum taking me to the doctor and getting some 'doxyhexal' tablets and some 'Clinda Tech, anti-acne Topical Solution.' The doctor also said to wash my face with 'Dove' soap about 3 times a week. Before trying this I'd try everything (including 'Proactive') but this was the only thing that actually worked! I hope this helps and I know how painful and embarassing it is!
CLINIQUE is the best thing for young skin.it gentle and it clears skin.its not irritating.good luck...
    proactive!
proactive (i think i spelled it wrong).. they are a bit expensive though and you can only buy it online.
I'm all for the go natural approach, tea tree oil is very effective, there are soaps, facial washes and the plain oil on its own is very good. You may want to take a look at her diet, i had acne as a teenager, my doctor changed my diet and put me on antibiotics and I found that the tea tree oil helped everything else along. Good luck :-)
Try using clinagel or calamine lotion
I know this sounds crazy but if worst comes to worst take her to see an OBGYN. Sometimes girls have hormone imbalances. After my little sister of 14 at the time went on a birthcontrol medication she no longer had acne as bad. I mean proactiv is suppose to be the best and I am a person to definetly subscribe to the bandwagon since i have 6 people i know that use proactiv. My little sister had this problem and went to the dermatologist and got some treatments and it helped.
It sounds like it's time to get to the dermatologist. If her acne is on her face, chest and back and benzoyl peroxide is not helping, she needs professional help. Probably an oral medication.

Also, make sure she is not scubbing. Scrubbing cause friction to the pores which leads to futher break-outs.

What is that acne medication that claims to clear up acne within 3 days?

    Hello,

Many parents might remember their own case of teen acne and how it made them feel shy or self-conscious. It is important to know that acne can impact a teen's self-esteem and self-confidence at a critical point in his or her development.

So what can you do to help your teenager with his or her acne and their overall well being?

The skin is often considered a reflection of our inner health. Good overall health requires a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals. A variety of fruits and vegetables, limited fat, and 8-10 glasses of water a day are beneficial for everyone.

By the way, science has disproved the myth that chocolate and fried foods cause acne. Nonetheless, a healthy diet is important.

Understand the causes of acne and the best skin care techniques. Be knowledgeable about treatment options. Share the information with your teen and help him or her to take control of his/her own acne. For some teens the best approach may be to point them in the direction of a teen or acne website and let them discover what they need to know for him or herself.

    Teen Acne Tips:

Acne cannot be scrubbed away. In fact, abrasive washing or drying can irritate your teen's skin and worsen the acne. They should gently wash their skin with a mild soap once or twice daily, then rinse thoroughly and pat dry.

Astringents are not recommended unless your teen's skin is very oily. If they need to use an astringent, it should only be applied to the oily spots.

The best cosmetic skin care products and sunscreens to use are labeled oil-free, water-based, noncomedogenic or nonacnegenic. These products will not clog pores. Sunscreen should have a sun protection level of at least 15 SPF.

Many acne medications may cause sun sensitivity. Your teen should avoid excessive exposure to the sun. Despite a common belief, tanning does not clear up acne. It actually causes the skin to produce more oil. Tanning may also lead to premature aging and skin cancer.

Your teen should not scratch, pick, squeeze or pop his or her pimples. This may push bacteria from the pimple further into the skin and cause more inflammation and infection.

If over-the-counter products prove to be ineffective or you're concerned that your teen's lesions could cause scarring, consult with a dermatologist. Together, your teen and the dermatologist can find an effective acne treatment.

With the many acne treatments available today, there is truly no need for your teen to suffer the physical, social and emotional distress that acne may cause.

    Consult with a Dermatologist!

The dermatologist will review your teen's condition and give serious consideration to the cause, type and severity of acne as well as to the type of skin he or she has. The degree of severity will help to determine whether the dermatologist will prescribe an acne medication or a combination of medications.

Prescription acne medications may contain antibiotics to help minimize bacteria and or other active ingredients that help to clear pores and treat new blemishes.

Hope this helps you rid the blemishes,

TinaWhat is that acne medication that claims to clear up acne within 3 days?
Nothing except Steroid injection can do that.

    Learn more about acne-

http://www.doctorgoodskin.com/ds/acne/What is that acne medication that claims to clear up acne within 3 days?
I don't believe it is an acne medication. It's a book called acne free in three days. it's a scam. Just stick with proven treatments that work, like clearpores. or acnezine, or proactiv.
Perhaps it's that proactive stuff but they all do about the same. Acne suckss I had it from like 6th grade all the way to 8th you eventually grow out of it though. There's no such thing as a medication that will just completely make it all go away but it sure does help. I used to use some stuff called clearzit and it was pretty good.

Where can I get this prescription acne medication over the counter?

It has been working very well. And I would like to find it elsewhere...

I'm not sure what the name is... But it's made by RUGBY and it just says acne medication benzoyl peroxide lotion. Any information anyone can give me about ANYTHING that will be similar???Where can I get this prescription acne medication over the counter?
Proactiv has benzoyl peroxide in it too but i dont like it.Where can I get this prescription acne medication over the counter?
its ';prescription'; maybe you don't know what that means. it means you can't get it over the counter. you can get plenty of over the counter medications that contain benzoyl peroxide though. oxy pads use it I think. but if you are looking for prescription strength you won't find it.
    benzaclin
It's prescription, you cannot get it over the counter.
Selling a prescription drug over the counter is illegal. You probably can't find that specific one over the counter. Read the ingredients and see if you can't find an acne medication that has similar ingredients.
Go to a pharmacy and look at the many acne meds on the shelves. Look for the ingredient you mention is your question. If it is listed as the first or second ingredient it should contain enough to help as the one you had been using.

Wash off your makeup every single night. No skipping. Use a cleanser that says 'may cause slight tingling.....'

    Clean pillow case weekly.

    Don't pick or squeeze.

Resist the temptation to bury your face in your dog or cat's fur, even if they are the cutest thing you've ever seen.

Don't cup your face with your hands when sitting at a table, on the couch, on the phone, etc., wash your hands before touching your face. This will help with cold and flu bugs, too.

Drink alot of water, and get some exercise. The increased circulation to your capillaries will help wash away impurities from within.
I recommend washing your face every morning and night with a scrub and just trying not to touch it because that is what gets oil into your pores.
    Try ProActiv Solution.
this might sound groos but once a week a make my self a mask out of egg white all i use it the egg white and i apply it to my face for 20 min and then i wash it off with only water and when you wake uo in the morning your face looks 5 times clearer
JUST WATER AND SOAP TWICE A DAY!!!!!!!! or a good home remedy for a small zit is to put a little REMEMBER LITTLE!!!!!! dot of toothpaste on the area of irritation and go to sleep with it there and wash it of in the morning
a facial cleaner w/ salicylic acid

    oil free moisturizer
what works best for me is drinking lots and lots of water every day...also, always wash your face before bed and eat a balanced diet
A veggie peeler does the trick for me! Just a couple swipes and it works wonders.
should eat more veggies. no soft drinks, beef, spicy food! or junk food i would said. ha
It seams like i read somewhere that toothpaste works but I really don't know.
Wash your face with regular toothpaste for a few days. Keep the toothpaste on your problem area for 15 to 20 seconds...Wash it off and your face will be cleared up quickly.

Reccomendations for a good acne medication?

does anyone know of a good acne medication that fades scars as well as fights bacteria?Reccomendations for a good acne medication?
I've looked around, and I don't know of any anti-scarring acne medication. I've gone to a dermatologist and to a skin care salon and for now it seems like the best of both worlds still comes in two separate packages. I know there is scar treatment, and I know of some anti-bacterial acne wash, but I don't know of anything that does both effectively that comes in the same container. The best anti-bacterial wash I ever came across was Purpose soap. The only draw back it has is that it is very drying to the skin, so if your acne stems from dry skin you're going to want to double up on moisturizer plus some salicylic acid so your skin will remain a hostile environment for additional bacteria. If you're an oily skin type, you should be okay, but you'll still definitely need moisturizer to replenish all the oils and acids on your face. Ideally, your skin should remain slightly acidic, as this will boil away bacteria as it comes into contact with your skin, but won't have any negative effects on the healthy cells of your skin.

Since I have some familiarity with the history of the condition, and I remember the problem being in a certain location that's definitely not your face, Purpose soap is ideal because most people don't see that side of you on a daily basis besides yourself.

Since I'm not familiar with too many good scar treatments, I did a little research, and found this. It looks pricy, but at the very least can give you an idea of what kind of ingredients you'll want to look out for.

This is gonna sound so weird, but use regular listerine on your face and it clears up--fast.

Or try using stridex pads, they work well too.
I use St. Ives apricot scrub, the proactiv and stuff that's expensive like that never worked for me.
When I start getting a large bump that looked like it might get infected I would put neosporian on it. That helped A LOT with infection and scarring....which I'd done it earlier!
Neutragena Acne Fading mask fades old acne marks like the redness, but to truly get rid of the scars you will need laser or microdermabrasion treatments. I HIGHLY recommend Tazorac for treating the actual acne, you get it by prescription from a dermatologist

I went on the acne medication Accutane 5 years ago, and I STILL have a dry nose. How do I cure this irritation?

I've used Vaseline (reccommended by dermatologist) for years... but I'm sick of having to swab it with a Q-Tip up my nose every few hours to remain comfortable. Plus, I'm not to keen on the idea of breathing in petroleum for years and years. Is there any way to put a final stop to this constant dryness?I went on the acne medication Accutane 5 years ago, and I STILL have a dry nose. How do I cure this irritation?
Petroleum isn't harmful in any way, even over long periods of time. In fact it is very helpful, because our skin and membrane need oils, if they're not produced by the body. You should see if your doctor has any ideas though, since it sounds uncomfortable and there may be alternative medications that don't cause this side effect.I went on the acne medication Accutane 5 years ago, and I STILL have a dry nose. How do I cure this irritation?
    go back to the docter.
See your doctor first. Then if you are looking for a good way to moisturize you nose try this. Maybe you have been given some small pump spray bottle for a nose spray that you still have,,,,, if so, empty and flush it. Put in it filtered or distilled water with sea salt in it. Spritzing it up your nose will moisturize your nose and be easy and clean.
I would go back to your doctor quickly.
Get off the medication. You might not need to use it anymore. It's been 5 years.
I use Vitamin E for a similar problem.
Use a nasal spray with glycerin (or go to the Doctor).
If you have been off the drug for five years its' not likely that this is related to the acutane. You most likely have another disorder. You should probably see an ottorhinolaringologist (ear, nose, and throat specialist) ASAP%26gt; As for the use of vasoline it does in some cases have a tendency to suppress the activity of the cillia that line the passageways in the lungs.

Most ENTS recomend the use of KY jelly (don't laugh they are serious).
Humidify your environment, use nasal saline spray and see what is causing your allergies to act up. That is probably what is causing the dry noseirritation.

What is a very good acne medication that is CHEAP?

I need good acne cream and i need it to clear msot of my acne by saturday , if possible it also cant be like 40 bucks, help? thanks in advancedWhat is a very good acne medication that is CHEAP?
there's this new over the counter medicine called panoxyl. it has benzoyl peroxide that is a major help to acne. i don't know if its cheap, but it comes in a bar of soap. i personally used it and it help dry out my acne and make it disappear as i used. but you also have to make sure you don't over use because it can dry out skin also, so use a light moisturizer like clean and clear oil free mostusizer for smooth acne free skin.

Is there really urine in acne medication?

My best freind said that acne medicine is mostly made of urine. Has anyone else ever heard this? She also said that your first morning urine is best for back acne.Is there really urine in acne medication?
    No.

However, many creams and medications contain urea, which is one of the main components of urine. Urea is not urine, however.

That is probably where your friend got their information from.Is there really urine in acne medication?
I know that some have liver enzymes from a cow; this could be what your friend is talking about. Your friend drinks pee and you listen to her? hmm..
Don't know about that - but my friends mom stopped taking a menopause med because there was horse urine in it.
i dont think so... that would be more expensive than to just synthesize the compounds. plus acne meds usually have an antibiotic or a disinfectant, no hormones or anything that would come from urine.

but who knows, drugs have weird histories. warfarin was origninally marketed as a rat poison, and Premarin is made from horse urine.
ONLY IF YOU DRINK IT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!
your friend is an idiot. ammonia would be in the medicine, thats the only common ingredient between the two. but urine, no, the fda wouldnt allow it, possible disease transmission.

the puritains and early spaniards used to brush thier teeth with urine to whiten thier teeth, but i wont be trying that one either.

if your friend is putting urine on thier face... ewww find a new friend
Author uses a medicine made from cow urine to treat acne. please check up:

    http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/ayu鈥?/a>

The name of the mediccine is Nari Sanjivani.

Those who cant take it, will be given a medicien called Phal Ghrut, this medicine is not made from any urine, but made from cow ghee (clarified butter). The reason for acne is excess testosterone hormone, which gets balanced by progesterone and estrogen from Ghrutam. The ghrutams are not to be ingested but applied externally. Author has cured several (more than 20) cases of acne, which could not cure by any other branch of alternative medicine.
that is totally wrong !!! it's a myth

Can I wear Jergens Natural Glow Under my acne medication cream?

I've used Jergens Natural Glow on my Face Before, and it didnt break me out at all...All i want to know is Can I put jergens natural glow on my face at night, but yet still be wearing my acne medication (its benzaclin) over it?

Or will the acne medication not work over it, or will the Jergens Natural Glow not work under it?Can I wear Jergens Natural Glow Under my acne medication cream?
You should always put medicated cream on your face BEFORE any moisturizer, but I'm afraid in this case the Benzaclin might not let the Jergens do its tanning work effectively or evenly. Could you maybe put the moisturizer on in the morning and the acne medication on in the evening? If not, I would apply your acne medication as evenly as possible, wait a few hours, and then put the Jergens on.Can I wear Jergens Natural Glow Under my acne medication cream?
usually on your acne bottle they say put makeup on before or after if i were u i would put it on after because it will cover the acne medication up (color wise) but it the acne stuff can still work on your skin
The product should have a information line you can call to ask questions. Look on the packet ,they will be able to tell you.

Yes, it is. The TSA allows ';reasonable quantities'; of prescription and over-the-counter medication to be taken in carry-on luggage. (In other words, your Retin-A is not subject to the 3 ounce limit incorrectly cited by the first answer.)

Often a lack of certain vitamins causes skin problems---good luck

    proactive.

    hands down.
my husband is 29 and he had occasional acne problems with his oily face since teen-age years. Finally, he tried Proactiv ($19.99 intro price). Since then, i never heard him complain.

good luck and be patient.do not prick your acne.
I'm 23 and pretty much have tried everything ... I'm not sure if you're too young but I used Accutane (a daily pill) that clears up your face bigtime in about 3 months .

Nothing except Steroid injection can do that.

http://www.doctorgoodskin.com/ds/acne/What is that acne medication that claims to clear up acne within 3 days?
I don't believe it is an acne medication. It's a book called acne free in three days. it's a scam. Just stick with proven treatments that work, like clearpores. or acnezine, or proactiv.
Perhaps it's that proactive stuff but they all do about the same. Acne suckss I had it from like 6th grade all the way to 8th you eventually grow out of it though. There's no such thing as a medication that will just completely make it all go away but it sure does help. I used to use some stuff called clearzit and it was pretty good.

  • What is the best acne/pimple medication for a 12 year old?

Where can I get this prescription acne medication over the counter?

It has been working very well. And I would like to find it elsewhere...

I'm not sure what the name is... But it's made by RUGBY and it just says acne medication benzoyl peroxide lotion. Any information anyone can give me about ANYTHING that will be similar???Where can I get this prescription acne medication over the counter?
its ';prescription'; maybe you don't know what that means. it means you can't get it over the counter. you can get plenty of over the counter medications that contain benzoyl peroxide though. oxy pads use it I think. but if you are looking for prescription strength you won't find it.Where can I get this prescription acne medication over the counter?
    benzaclin
It's prescription, you cannot get it over the counter.
Selling a prescription drug over the counter is illegal. You probably can't find that specific one over the counter. Read the ingredients and see if you can't find an acne medication that has similar ingredients.
Proactiv has benzoyl peroxide in it too but i dont like it.
Go to a pharmacy and look at the many acne meds on the shelves. Look for the ingredient you mention is your question. If it is listed as the first or second ingredient it should contain enough to help as the one you had been using.
